Simply mark the number of correct responses you marked in the examination and add up your scores. More often, this evaluation will be very close to your actual scores.

The maximum mark allowed for the CTET exam is 150. Each correct answer in the CTET exam carries one mark. Hence, it is a lot easier to calculate your scores using the answer key. Moreover, there are minimum qualifying marks for the CTET exam, varying according to the candidate’s category.

Following are the minimum qualifying marks for various categories of candidates:

  • General category: You need to score 60% in the exam to qualify, which is around 90 marks out of 150.
  • Reserved category: You need to score at least 55% to qualify, which means 82 marks out of 150.

They issue a ‘CTET Qualified’ certificate to the candidates who clear this exam. This certificate enables you to teach for Classes I to VIII.

CBSE provides you the provision to raise objections on the Answer key, which the candidates may use if needed. The link for raising objections will be available for only a short period. You can pay this fee through a credit card or debit card, on or before the specified date. Moreover, the fee paid for raising objections on the Answer key is non-refundable.

Relevance of the CTET score

The CTET qualifying certificate applies to all Central government schools. It is also relevant in schools under the management of the Union Territories such as Lakshadweep, Delhi, Chandigarh, or Nagar Haveli. Besides, some of the unaided private schools also consider the CTET certificate, where you can apply this qualification.

Some of the State government schools may also consider the CTET certificate if the state decides not to hold the TET examination. Moreover, to teach for Classes I to VIII in schools affiliated with CBSE, teachers need to have a minimum qualification of the CTET or TET certificate. The CTET and the TET (Teacher Eligibility Test) are conducted under the guidelines set by the NCTE.

Validity of the CTET certificate

The CTET qualifying certificate has a validity of seven years from the date of result declaration. You may get appointed at any point during this period. However, a person can attempt the CTET exam any number of times to clear it and obtain the certificate. Moreover, a candidate who cleared the CTET exam may also attempt it again to enhance their scores.
