Fast forward to the 20th century, and we see a dramatic change in bowling attire. During this time, bowlers began to wear more formal clothing suits, and ties. This was especially true during league matches where players were expected to dress up as though they were attending a formal event. However, by the 1950s and 60s; bowling attire took on a casual look with the introduction of polyester shirts and pants. These bowling shirts were often bright and colourful with bold patterns or stripes. The shirts also featured large collars that popped up for added style.

Today, bowling fashion continues to evolve as bowlers look for ways to express their individuality on the lanes. Some bowlers prefer a retro look with classic bowling shirts and shoes, while others opt for a more modern look with athletic-inspired clothing. One trend that has become popular in recent years is customized or personalized bowling attire. Many bowlers now order custom-made shirts or jerseys with their names and team logos. Some even go as far as to have their entire team wear matching outfits for added unity and style. Another trend we are seeing in bowling fashion is the use of compression sleeves or arm sleeves. These sleeves provide added support during play and add an extra layer of style to any outfit. In addition to clothing, accessories are an important part of bowling fashion. Bowlers now wear wristbands, headbands, hats, and sunglasses on the lanes. These accessories add style but also serve practical purposes such as keeping sweat out of the eyes or blocking glare from overhead lighting.
