Welcome to the third vlog Nate published about his progress and experience during our Roundtable Wellness program. The program included several months of acupuncture treatments, yoga, and lifestyle practices focused around nutrition, sleep habits, and self-awareness.
In this vlog, learn how Nate came to understand how serious a breakdown in good sleep is on his health and safety. Nate shares his story around insomnia and explains how at some points he would even fall asleep while running because of how disrupted his sleep had become. It’s an honest glimpse into his life in college and part of the beginning of his wellness journey. His insights about how to deal with this are brilliant and real.
One in two of each of Rachel’s patients reports symptoms related to challenges around sleep. The word insomnia can seem elusive to some people especially if they’re unsure what ‘good’ sleep means anymore. In the treatment room we’re looking at sleep through many lenses – ease of falling asleep, regularity of staying asleep, waking up refreshed, and moving through the day with enough energy (without the requirement of stimulants). The timing of when someone goes to sleep and how long they sleep can result in a long list of symptoms such as healthy mental clarity, high blood pressure, low back pain, menstruation/fertility issues, libido, acid reflux, and more.
