“Instead of me trying to control what’s coming in, now it’s me deciding what I want to put out into the world – what energy I want to bring into places; I’m spending so much less time fighting being overwhelmed.” ~ Nate

When Nate started this project, he describes how his thoughts and external stimuli were overwhelming. In this episode he talks about lessons learned and tools gained. And how he keeps adding to his toolbox beyond this project.
He told us, “Instead of me trying to control what’s coming in, it’s me deciding what I want to put out into the world, what energy I want to bring into places; I’m spending so much less time fighting being overwhelmed.. If I’m not having a positive conversation with myself I just stop having it or let it go…it doesn’t have to own me anymore.”
Rachel describes how healing that can be – when you reach a point of being able to think, “I am not my suffering”. Cultivating an observer is to create some space between you and your symptoms.
Then we open up the conversation: Rachel, Sam, and Joy share about their wellness practices, too.
What are the tools you use for self-care? For Rachel, a steak dinner works. For Sam, that’s sleep.
What does it feel like when you have a ‘healing moment’? For Joy, it feels snapping a glow stick.
And we leave you with the bottom line: as Sam puts it, “What brings you joy? Self-care is your personal responsibility; you better know what you’re gonna do when shit hits the fan.”

Roundtable Wellness is a vision we’ve had since before opening Third Space Wellness. It comes out of a desire and need we see to help people navigate their health and wellness with more ease. It’s rare that individuals or families have access to having their practitioners – of varying modalities – working together collaboratively with them directly as part of the process of their healing. That’s what we’re exploring and building here.
